Dominga Quiroz Ramos Caban 75 of Abilene passed away Thursday December 03 2009. There will be a rosary at St. Francis Catholic Church on Friday at 6:00 p.m. followed by a vigil at 7:00 p.m. Mass will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Father George Thirumangalam officiating. Burial will be Monday in Encinal Texas. Mrs. Ramos was born January 4 1934 in Encinal Texas to Francisco and Manuela Quiroz. She married Basilio Caban in 1961 in Puerto Rico. She lived in Chicago Indiana for thirty years and moved to Puerto Rico in 1981. In 1993 she moved to Abilene. She worked as a waitress for many years. She was a devoted member of St. Francis Catholic Church. She served as a C.C.D. Teacher Guadalupana Eucharistic Minister Usher Cursillista and as a Hospitality Member. She touched many lives and hearts. She was a happy and always on the go person. She spent her final days peacefully in the care of her nephew and niece Arnulfo and Dorothy Guerra and their family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1984; brother Francisco Quiroz Jr.; sister Amelia Q. Gonzales; nephew Juan Guerra; and niece Mary A. Cortez. She is survived by three sisters Ramona Q. Rodriguez and husband Eugene of St. John Michigan Elva Quiroz of Abilene and Marie Q. Benton of Nevada along with several nieces and nephews.
