Donald R. Weldon, age 71 passed from this life on Monday, November 29, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene. Donald was born September 13, 1950 in Abilene and was a graduate of Clyde High School. He entered the US Navy after graduating in July of 1969 and proudly served his country for 24 years as a Sonar Technician. Donald served in Vietnam and was responsible and received a Presidential Commendation after finding a crashed SR 71. He was active with the VFW Post 8587 in Georgetown, Texas and enjoyed fishing. Donald is preceded in death by his parents Alton and Joyce Adcock and George R. Weldon. He is survived by his children, Alton Lee Weldon, Lonnie Ray Weldon and Rebekah Weldon Pickrel all of Michigan; siblings, Tommy Weldon of Abilene, Gary Weldon of Abilene, Lana McNeil of Abilene, Joe Mike Adcock of Dallas and Jimmie Glen Adcock of Kileen; 3 grand children and 1 great grandchild.
