Doris Vinson Allbright 76 of Abilene passed away Wednesday June 12 2013 where she ran into the loving arms of her husband Edgar who had been waiting patiently for ten years. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in Bradshaw Cemetery with Dr. Herb Wood officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Doris was born October 8 1936 in Anson Texas to Leonard and Sudie (Hambrick) Vinson. Doris retired from the AISD as a cafeteria manager at Jane Long and Bowie Elementary after thirty-three years of service. She worked hard all of her life at side jobs including the drive-in Laundromat and delivering the thrifty nickel. After retirement she was a foster grandmother at the Abilene State School. Doris is survived by her daughter Sondra Wilkinson and friend Pam Vansickle. Her son Ricky Allbright and wife Belinda. She was known as Grankey to her three granddaughters Natalie Hopkins Amanda and Brittany Allbright. We wish to thank Hendrick Hospice nurses for their special care of our mother.
