Doris Birmingham 82 of Abilene passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023 Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 12pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church located at 1404 College St. Colorado City, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, November 24, from 5-7pm at North's Funeral Home Chapel.
Doris Birmingham aka Skeet was born April 17, 1941 in Colorado City, Texas. She was born to Maggie Mae Wallace-Green and Velmer Green. She attended DW Wallace in Colorado City, Texas. Doris has always had an infectious personality. Whoever had the pleasure of knowing her knows, she left an impression on you. She had no filter what so ever and would say what was on her mind! She was a true character and would keep you laughing. She had a very good heart and welcoming home. We all knew we could show up for a good cup of coffee in the morning, her famous fried chicken and a good game of cards. She was everybody's granny & auntie. Doris was a safe haven for all that she loved. Her passion was all of her family, cooking and the game room.
She leaves to cherish her memories her sister Julia Green and her children John Green, David Birmingham, Monica Birmingham, Derrick Birmingham, Cheryl Birmingham and her step children Rose Marie Tryon, Bennie Faye Spring, Glenda Falls. Her grandchildren, great grandchildren, special daughter in law Regina Russell, and a host of extended family and many friends.
Predeceased by her parents: Maggie Mae Wallace-Green and Velmer Green, her husband Ezell Birmingham, son Dewayne Birmingham, step son Ezell Birmingham Jr. daughter Doris Coleman, Brothers; James Green, Velmer Green Jr., John Green, Matthew Green, Isaiah Green.
It goes without saying that she will be missed dearly. Let this loss be a lesson to everyone hold your love ones close and give them their flowers while they are alive.
