Doris Marie Harber 89 passed away at a local nursing center Monday April 9 2007. She is together again with her beloved husband J.C. Harber who preceded her in death in 1995 whom she grieved and missed dearly. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Elmwood Memorial Park with Dr. Royce Money officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange St.
Doris Marie South Harber was born October 13 1917 in Taylor County to Lacy and Dolly South. She married J.C. Harber in 1934. They were members of the Church of Christ in Abilene. J.C. was employed by the Texas Highway Department for 27 years. Doris was a cook for the Texas School System for 30 years. After J.C.'s death Doris lived the past several years at Wisteria and Mesa Springs Healthcare Center a division of Hendrick Hospital.
She is survived by two sons; Lacy Harber and wife Dorothy of Denison and Ernie Harber of Houston. Two daughters; Jo Ann Mirick of Fort Worth and Gloria Stinson of Dallas. Two sisters; Hollyce Wilmeth of Lubbock and Perrie Francis Weir of Jal New Mexico. Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
