Doris E. Karnes 89 of Abilene went to be with her Lord at 9:00 A.M. Friday July 18 2008 at a local hospital. Graveside services will be at 10 A.M. Tuesday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Rev. Louis Brewer officiating. Burial will be under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 7:30 P.M. at the funeral home. She was born in Rowena Texas June 27 1919. She married James O. Karnes on May 18 1937 in Abilene. Doris was a homemaker a very care giving and loving mother sister aunt grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents husband and two brothers (Kenneth and Johnnie Wilkerson). Survivors include a son James Carter Karnes; a grandson Stacey Karnes; two great granddaughters Chelsee and Chassiti Karnes; four nieces Kayle Keith Karen McCarty Shirley and Joann; 1 nephew Kenneth Wilkerson Jr. several great nieces and nephews. We will miss you very much and we all love you.
