Dorothy Samuels Bailey, age 80, became an Angel of Heaven on December 18, 2021. Visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Monday, December 27, 2021, at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street, Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Tuesday at King Solomon Baptist Church, 1050 Minda Street in Abilene with Rev. Houston McLendon officiating. Interment will be private. Dorothy was born on November 12, 1941 Pastor Alvin Samuels, Sr. and Lola Givens Samuels. She attended school in Madisonville, Texas where she graduated. She was a CNA at Sears Retirement Center and later became a Licensed Medication Aide and caregiver for the elderly here in Abilene. Dorothy had a kind heart and she loved her family. She made you feel welcome in her life and her home. She was always wanting to help others in need and would give you her last dime if you needed it. Dorothy Knew the Lord and accepted Christ as her personal savior very early in life and was a member of King Solomon Baptist Church. During her time at the church she served on the Usher Board, sang in the choir and served on many different committees. In transition from her life, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of thirty seven years, Robert Bailey; daughter, Lora Evans; sister, Elva Haynes; grandson, Donald Evans; brothers, Thomas Samuels, John Henry Samuels and Carroll Samuels and her parents Lola and Alvin Samuels, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted daughter, Secta Gammage; grandsons, Percy Gammage, III, and wife, Stephanie, Christopher Gammage and David Evans; great grandchildren, Percy Gammage, IV(Little Mason) and Sienna Gammage and a host of relatives and friends as well as her wonderful church family at King Solomon Baptist Church.
