Dorothy N. Smith 89, of Abilene, passed away Monday, December 21, 2015. A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in North's Memorial Chapel with Weldon Gann officiating. Burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Mrs. Smith was born September 29, 1926 in Louisville, Kentucky to Albert and Dorothy (Thompson) Krebs. She married Robert M. Smith on October 26, 1946 in Louisville, Kentucky. They moved to Abilene in 1953. She was a member of the Oak Street Church of Christ. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son-in-law, George Self. She is survived by her four daughters, Mary Roberts and husband Archie, Josie Self, Roberta McLaughlin and Betty Allen and husband Richard. Five grandchildren: Julie Richardson, Dale Roberts, Cody Sutterfield, Justin Allen and Magan Warren.
