Dorothy Mae Wright 89, of Abilene passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024. Visitation will be held at 10:00AM June 20, 2024. Funeral Services will be held June 20, 2024 11:00AM at North's Funeral Home. Burial to fallow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel, TX. Dorothy Mae Wright was born December 17, 1934 in Isla, TX to Ivory Smith and Middleton Cooley. Dorothy married the love her life Cecil Wright on November 15, 1948. She loved to garden and crochet in her spare time. Her favorite thing to do was to cook and spend time with her family. She was a faithful member of the Hawley Church of Christ. Dorothy was the sunshine in everyone's life, and she will be greatly missed. Dorothy was preceded in death by; husband; Cecil Wright 1988, son; Douglas Wright 2024, both parents; Middleton and Ivory Cooley, and several sisters, and brothers. Left to cherish her memories are: daughter, Lesa Anderson and husband Dennis, sister; Sue Cooley, granddaughters; Alicia Anderson, Taylor Wright, and Leann Wright all of Abilene, TX, grandson; Justin Wright, great grandsons; Nicholas Wright, Anthony Rodriquez, and Jonathan Rodriquez, and a host of nieces and nephews.
