Dortha Alexander of Knox City passed away Wednesday, November 24, 2021 in Munday, Texas. Funeral Services will be held Friday December 3, at 12pm at Liberty Community Church of God in Christ located at 302 N. Aspen Ave. Knox City, TX. with burial to follow at Knox City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10am -2pm Thursday December 2, at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Abilene TX. Dortha Alexander was born May 28, 1926 in Palestine TX to parents Hayes Goree and Effie Eiglebiger Dortha received her primary education from St. Paul Baptist Church. Being the matriarch of the family, she loved sewing, quilting, picking peas, cooking from scratch and most of all she loved going to church, specifically Sunday school. Dortha was preceded in death by her husband James Alexander, son David Hendrix, daughter Charlene Oudems, granddaughter Nedria Oudems, grandson Steve Oudems, granddaughter Charlotte Polk, granddaughter in law Debra Hendrix, and granddaughter Asia Hendrix. Left to cherish her memories are: grandson, Anthony (Mary)Oudems of Spring, TX. granddaughter April (CG) Shaw of Duncanville, TX. great-grandson Jazz Oudems of Knox City, TX. great grandaughter Summer Oudems of Munday, TX. great grandson Ronnell Oudems, great great Tryniti Oudems of Spring, TX., sister in law, Marilyn Bennet, 17 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren and a host of extended family and many friends.
