Dotty M. Villarreal, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday September 19, 2025 at the age of 68, surrounded by loved ones.
Dotty was born on December 7, 1956, in Three Rivers, Michigan, where she also received her education. At the age of 23, she moved to Abilene, Texas, a place she would come to call home for the rest of her life. It was in Abilene, while working at the Pancake House, that she met the love of her life, Roberto Villarreal. The two were married in 1988 and shared 37 years of love, laughter, and memories.
Dotty worked for many years as a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), caring for others with the same warmth and humor she shared with her family and friends. She had a bright, unforgettable personality - always ready with a joke, quick to laugh, and never one to turn down a shopping trip or a plate of Chinese food. She especially enjoyed "playing with her money," and her joyful, mischievous spirit brought smiles to everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Roberto Villarreal of Abilene; daughters Kathy Watkins (Ricky) of Abilene, Angel Perez (Jackie) of Abilene, Annie Kilpatrick (Norman) of Houston, TX; and her son David Villarreal Jr. (Vanessa) of Corpus Christi, TX. Dotty also leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a large extended family and many friends who will deeply miss her vibrant presence.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Charles Schrock, and Dorothy Lunger-Schrock, son Isreal John Villarreal, her brothers Thomas and Dennis, and her sister Virginia.
Dotty's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her - a woman who found joy in the simple things, laughter in every day, and love in every corner of her life.
Funeral Service will be held Friday at 1:30 at North's Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Hawley Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5-7pmat the Funeral Home located at 242 Orange St. Abilene TX, 79601.
