Douglas Cupps 53 of Bloomfield died on Thursday Nov. 24 2011. He was born Sept. 28 1958 in Fayetteville Ark. to Rosemary and Ralph Cupps. Doug was raised in Abilene Texas . He was in the ROTC and in 1976 he graduated from Abilene High School .   He was a strongly spiritual man who loved Jesus. Doug was a fun and smart man who loved to fish and play a mean game of pool. He liked to go for rides out in the country and was a lifetime member of the NRA who loved and was proud of his country. He also enjoyed target practice with his revolver. He was a John Wayne fan and liked old Western movies. His best friends knew him as ""Scooter"" and called him by that name. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family. He was   kind and compassionate and dealt with his constant physical pain by giving it to Great Jehovah his God. He was preceded in death by his father Ralph Cupps; and his grandparents Neal and Eunice Tedford and William and Julia Cupps. He is survived by his mother Rosemary Cupps; his brother David Cupps; and his sisters Cathy Cupps and Sue Gover. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 29 at Cope Memorial Chapel of Aztec 405 S. Main Ave. in Aztec. Dennis Vaughn will officiate.
