Obituary

Douglas Tilden Alldredge, 43, of Abilene passed away Thursday, January 16th, 2020 at Hendrick Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 20, 2020 at 1:00pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 3325 N. 12th St. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 19, 2020 from 6-8pm at North's Funeral Home at Chapel, located at 242 Orange St. Douglas was born February 24, 1976 in Groom, Texas to parents Danelle D. Alldredge and Carole Pauline Calvin Alldredge. Douglas received his primary education from Merkel Independent School District graduating from Merkel High School in 1994. Doug was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and achieved his Eagle Scout Award and was a member of the Order of the Arrow. After high school he served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tampico, Mexico. In 1997, he married his high school sweetheart Tabitha Renae Reed in Dallas, Texas. Doug joined the United States Army and dutifully served for 6 years. During his time in the military, he served as a Linguist in military intelligence. After his service in the Army, Douglas returned to Abilene and served in the Abilene Police Dept. for several years. He then decided to further his education and enrolled in McMurry University to graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. Afterward, he started a career with Child and Adult Protective Services where he had a positive impact on many families. Left to cherish his memories are wife, Tabitha Reed Alldredge of Abilene, Mother, Carole Alldredge Calvin (Noel) of Scurry, TX. children; Laurel Alldredge (Calvin), Cami Alldredge, Cosette Alldredge, and Jocelyn Alldredge all of Abilene. Siblings Leighanne Griffin (Sean) of Charleston, SC. Terry Phillips (Angie) of Edmond, OK, Damon Alldredge (Danette) of Cummings, GA. Danny Alldredge (Tamara) of Abilene, 7 nephews, and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by brother, Jeffery Phillips, father, Danny Alldredge, maternal grandparents, and paternal grandparents.
