Obituary

Drucilla C. Christian, 79, of Abilene, Texas, passed away on January 15, 2026. Drucilla was born to Thomas Carroll and Earnestine Calloway on May 22, 1946 in Abilene, Texas, where she was raised and educated. Growing up, she attended Mount Moriah Baptist Church, a church founded by her grandfather, which helped shape her strong faith and love for service. After graduating from high school, she attended Abilene Commercial College, where she earned a degree in accounting. She worked for Timex for many years before continuing her career at the Abilene State Supported Living Facility. Later, she joined her husband, Harold Christian, and worked faithfully alongside him for over 30 years at Harold's BBQ, where she was well known and loved by many in the community. Drucilla was an avid supporter of high school sports and a proud Abilene High Eagles fan. She loved all Texas sports teams and rarely missed a game. Her faith was central to her life, and she was deeply involved in church activities, serving on the usher board, choir, and missionary ministries. She was also a member of Antioch CME Church with her husband before later joining Valley View Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold Christian; her son, Andrei Christian; her brothers, George Calloway and Ronnie Carroll; her sister, Glenda Jones; and her grandsons, Andrew Christian, Keimont Christian, and Andrei Christian. Drucilla leaves to cherish her memory her son, Russell Christian (Earline Henry) of Abilene; her daughter, Vanessa Christian (Malcom) of Abilene; her sisters, Linda Winters of Farmers Branch, Texas, Paula Boyce of Wylie, Texas, Anita Elaine Eddie of New Braunfels, Texas, and Sharon Butler of Harker Heights, Texas; her brother, Gary Carroll of Abilene; daughter in law Brenda Christian of Abilene, eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and many dear friends.
