Obituary

Earl Raymond Lundell II began walking the streets of glory with his precious Savior on January 4 2009 at the age of 83. Earl affectionately known as "Paw" was born to parents Earl R. Lundell Sr. and Mabel Kimmons Lundell on August 31 1925 in El Paso Texas where he lived until he retired in 2000. He then moved to Abilene Texas with his wife Gretchen. Paw worked for the US Postal service for 10 years after which he owned and operated the A-1 Driving School of El Paso for 45 years. He married Gretchen Mae Anderson on January 21 1951 and they raised 5 children who happily called him "Sweet Daddy" as he often encouraged them to do while sporting a mischievous grin. Paw loved cowboy poetry and snow skiing. He would regularly ski the Ruidoso slopes and would ski in Colorado once a year. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and sister Billie Mae Gwyn. He is survived by his wife Gretchen sister Doris Jean Wheeler of Boerne Texas Brother Robert Norman Lundell (wife Lola) of Red Rock Texas as well as sons Earl R Lundell III (wife Vicki) of El Paso Texas Timothy Lundell (wife Anita) of Pensacola Florida daughters DeeAnn Monroe (husband Rod) of Anthony New Mexico Becky Guttuso (husband Gregg) of Bradshaw Texas and Kyda Pardee (husband Scott) of Abilene Texas. Earl had 14 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren (2 more on the way) and numerous nieces and nephews. Paw will be missed by family and friends but we all know he is enjoying walking the streets of glory and has probably already found a ski slope. A home going celebration will be held on Wednesday January 7th at 2:00 pm at the Bible Baptist Church in Clyde Texas.
