Eleanor May Fry, 80, of Abilene, passed away Monday, May 25, 2015. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, in North's Memorial Chapel, with Ernie Kite officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Memorial Park, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Friday evening in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street. Eleanor was born May 24, 1935 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania to Thomas Coates and Gladys Baker. She was a majorette in the high school marching band. Eleanor graduated from Greensburg High School in 1953. She married Charles Fry on July 2, 1956, and they were married for fifty years until his passing on January 9, 2007. Eleanor was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Martin D. Denison Post 6873 Ladies Auxiliary, Elmwood West United Methodist Church, Big Country Apartment Association, and Texas Lesser Association. She loved to gamble, crochet, bowl, and use coupons. She was preceded in death by her parents; Thomas and Gladys Coates; her brother, Thomas Coates; her husband, Charles Fry, and one son, Thomas Fry. Eleanor is survived by one son; Roy C. Fry of Abilene; one daughter, Susan M. Nunn and husband Dustin of Arlington, Texas; daughter-in-law, Kristina Fry of Garland, Texas; four grandsons, Jacob, Alan, Dylan, and Colby; one granddaughter, Brittany; two sisters, Virginia Krofek of Jeannette, PA, and Sandra Gamble and husband Edward of Greensburg, PA. She was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elmwood West United Methodist Church, 13025 S.
