Obituary

Eliseo Martinez Sr., 71, beloved son, brother, father and grandfather departed this life peacefully on August 21, 2026 surrounded by the love of his family.

Eliseo was born on November 16, 1954 in Plainview, Texas to Eugenio Trevino Martinez and Frances O'Con Martinez. He used to work for Pride Refinery in the 80's for 17 years. Afterward, he worked a number of different jobs before becoming employed with Abimar Foods, where he remained until the end of his working career.

Eliseo was a family man who enjoyed spending time with the people he loved. He especially enjoyed watching football, proudly cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. He also loved gathering with family and friends, sharing laughter, good times, and good food. Eliseo was known for making a wonderful brisket and took pride in bringing people together around the table.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Eugenio Trevino Martinez; his siblings, Eugene Martinez, Edward Martinez, Victor Martinez, Miguel Martinez and Mary Lieja.

Those left behind to cherish his memories are his mother; Frances O'Con Martinez of Abilene; his beloved wife of 22 years, Jesusa Martinez of Abilene; his daughter, Elisa Martinez of Houston; his sons, Eliseo Martinez Jr. (Marcy) of Abilene, Manuel Martinez of Abilene and Mario Cerda; his five grandchildren Cameran, Roman, Luke, Manny, and Samuel; his brothers, Elpidio Martinez of Abilene, Patrick Martinez of Abilene; sisters, Lydia Martinez of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dolores Carranza of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Isabell Dominguez (Shaun), Gloria Riviera, Virginia Fuentez (Ramiro) all of Abilene, Texas, Martina Rodriguez of Copperas Cove, Texas and Connie Martinez (Marco) of Fort Worth, Texas; his stepchildren, Emily Avila (Jorge) of Abilene and John Arredondo of Abilene; and a host of nieces and nephews that he loved like his own; along with numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Eliseo will be remembered for his love of family, his friendship, his sense of community, his love of football, and the many good times shared around his table. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 12:00-4:00 PM at North's Funeral Home with a Rosary at 1:30 PM.
