Obituary

Eliza M. Arellano "Lisa" of Abilene passed away Monday April 3, 2023 at her home. Graveside service will be held Thursday April 13, 2023 at 11am at the Abilene City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at North's Funeral Home Wednesday April 12, from 6-8pm with a Rosary to be held at 7pm. Eliza (Lisa) Mary Arellano, 73, wonderful mother, sister, auntie, grandmother, great-grandmother, was born in Loraine, TX to Ascención and Virginia Arellano on a beautiful summer day, July 6th, 1949. She was the spunky middle child of 5 daughters. She attended Roscoe School as a young girl. Her older sister talks about a day Eliza didn't want to go to school so she walked from school to her uncles house, 15 miles away! She and her family moved to Abilene in 1970 where she received her GED from Adult Education. In 1974 she gave birth to a son, Nickolas. After that; came Anthony, Nicole and lastly, Marcus. Eliza was a loving mother who worked hard to provide for her family. She loved her children more than anything. She was always smiling, laughing and would give to anyone she saw was in need. She was joyful, hopeful, feisty, funny and warm. Her smile, her laugh, her love and her presence will be overwhelmingly missed by anyone who knew her. She was a grateful believer in Jesus Christ and accepted him as her Lord and Savior so we are hopeful to meet again. Eliza Arellano was preceded in death by her ama and apa, her sister Irene, her niece Monica and her beloved chihuahuas, Daisy and Skylar. She is survived by her son, Nickolas Arellano of Lewisville,TX, son, Anthony Arellano (Tara) of Abilene, TX, daughter, Nicole Dickerson (Roosevelt) of Carrollton, TX and son, Marcus Arellano (Darien) of Abilene, TX. Sister, Hope Lowery (Steve) of Abilene, sister, Gloria Sprecher (Romney) of Abilene, Tx, sister, Adel Pérez (Javier) of Abilene, TX.
