Ella G. Lopez was born in Mannheim-Neckarau, Germany to Emil and Frieda Bohm on February 2, 1928. She worked as a civilian for the Army during the war and came to the United States in 1957 where she obtained her Citizenship. She started a family in New York City with her husband whom she had met in Germany but passed in 2008. She worked in administrative positions before moving to Abilene in 1979 with two of her daughters. She took a job with the Texas Department of Health where she would retire. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who is truly loved and missed. She passed on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at the age of 94. She is survived by her daughter Lynn Binder and her husband Tom, her three grandchildren Derek Peterson of Abilene, TX Maigen Berg of Spring, TX and Matthew Ussery of Haskell, TX and their families. Daughters Carol Gorden of Emory, TX, Irene Grant of Abilene, TX, and grandchildren Tania Steinbruegge and Greg Di Palma and their families. Your laughter warmed my heart, Rest in Peace Mom.
