Obituary

Ellen Barbara Blascyk, 83 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on January 2, 2023 in Abilene, Texas. Visitation will be held 6:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday January 8, 2023 at North's Funeral Home at 242 Orange Street in Abilene. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 am on Monday January 9, 2023 at North's Funeral Home. Dale Jackson of Second Baptist Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. Services are under the direction of North's Funeral Home at 242 Orange Street in North's Funeral home Ellen was born in Kinta, Oklahoma to Raymond and Irene King on July 29, 1939. She graduated high school in Martha, Oklahoma. She retired from Target after working there for 20 years. She loved to cook, work on word puzzles, garden, decorate her home and spend time with friends and her church family. She especially loved her grandchildren, chihuahuas, and Alan Jackson. She was able to attend an Alan Jackson concert this past September with her granddaughters Brittani and Amber. Ellen was preceded in death by her parents; Raymond and Irene King, her twin sister Helen Woodward, sister; Mildred Anderson, brothers; Junior King, and Jesse Ray King. Ellen is survived by her husband of 18 years, William "Bill" Blascyk, her sister; Donna Caviness of Paris, Texas; her son, Alan Wayne Spry and wife Susie, her daughter Debbie Lynn Mizelle and husband Jim, her grandchildren Seth Conway and wife Lindsey, April Hernandez and husband Adolfo, Rachel Ford and husband Vincent, Amber Ponder and husband Jonathon, Brittani Wilson and husband Gibbs, and Callie Clemens. Great grandchildren Sean & Annie Conway, twins Paige & Presley Ponder, Brooks, Bennett, & Walker Wilson, and twins Royce & Klein Clemens. She also leaves behind her two beloved chihuahuas Phoebe and Penny. Pallbearers will be Seth Conway, Scotty Cook, Adolfo Hernandez, Jim Mizelle, Jonathon Ponder, and Gibbs Wilson.
