Obituary

Ellis Samuel Brooks was born to Thelma Huett and Sylvester Brooks on June 11, 1949. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from noon until 2pm at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange Street, Abilene. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Friday at the Abilene City Cemetery. The family asks that you please wear a mask when attending the visitation or service. He grew up in Abilene and attended Woodson High School. He was employed by Gibson Motor's in Abilene for several years. He traveled a few years before moving before moving back to Abilene and later moved to San Antonio with his wife Debra Brooks. Ellis is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Brooks; his mother, Thelma Reed; his stepfather, Frank Reed and two brothers Tony Brooks and Charlie Earl Green. He leaves to mourn his sons Sylvester Brooks of Lubbock and Rodney Potts of Abilene; his daughter, Thelma Brooks of Abilene; his brother, Cleosie Brooks and wife Vickie of Fort Worth; sister, Helen Clayton and husband Willie of Phoenix, Arizona; his cousin, Gloria Jordan; grandchildren, Cooper Brooks of San Angelo and Jasmine Brooks of Fort Worth; nieces, Thelma Green of Abilene, Pearl Green of San Antonio and Kamilah Brooks of Fort Worth; nephews, Lonnie Burts of Fort Worth, Russell and Carlton Henderson of Las Vegas, Nevada and a host of relatives and friends. We, the family of Ellis Samuel Brooks wish to thank everyone for their expressions of concern and sympathy during the illness and death or our beloved family member.
