Obituary

Emma Katherine Dyer age 93 passed away peacefully in her sleep September 21 2012. Katy was along time resident of Michigan City Indiana. After Edward her husband of fifty-two years passed away she moved to Hawley Texas to be near her daughter Patricia Dyer and her grandson Brent Dyer. Katy was born to William Herbert Alman and Harriet Lacy Alman in Terre Haute Indiana on March 4 1919. Both preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband Edward Andrew Dyer her sister Mina Ely and her two brothers Julian and Herbert Alman. Katy graduated from Indiana State College and taught music and business for a few years. She then became an Executive secretary working for the Girl Scouts of America Society Lingerie Ivy Tech Pathology School and retiring from Jaymar Ruby Inc. Retirement was not for her so she continued working volunteering at Northern Indiana Schools Stepping Stones Abuse Shelter Telecare and Saint Anthony Guild for many years. She brought sunshine and happiness to everyone. She never put herself first and always thought of ways to bless others. She found good in everyone and has touched so many lives with her tender caring and loving spirit. Katy was not only loved and adored by her family but by a multitude of friends. She is survived by her two daughters Lynda Clemons and Patricia Dyer; Grandchildren: Brent Dyer and his wife Jodi Jerry Clemons and his wife Angel David Clemons and his wife Laura Marsha Clemons Peter Clemons and wife Lynn Paul Clemons and his wife Kacey: Great-Grandchildren: Bailey Dyer Kobie Dyer David Clemons Jr. Emily Clemons Julie Clemons Clayton Clemons P.J. Clemons Gabriella Clemons Isabella Clemons Dolton Clemons and William Church. Viewing will be at Ott-Haverstock Funeral Home Michigan City Indiana on Wednesday September 26 2012 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  Graveside services will be on September 27 2012 at 1 p.m. at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Chapel.   Local arrangements are being handled by North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street Abilene Texas.
