Emma Bryant Modrall 87 of Abilene passed away Wednesday March 13 2013 at 1:03 a.m. with her friends and family at her side. Services celebrating her life will be held on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street with a graveside service to follow at the Blackwell Cemetery in Blackwell Texas. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at North's Funeral Home.
Emma was born October 4 1925 in Blackwell Texas to Edgar and Barbara Smith. She married Burl Bryant in 1951. Emma worked for Timex in Abilene until 1965. In 1966 she gave birth to their only son Tad Bryant. Burl and Emma bought the Texaco station at South 14 th and Winters Freeway where she continued to help her husband run the business until 1983. Her husband Burl passed away in 1987 at the age of sixty-three. Emma remarried on January 4 2001 to Darrell Modrall.
She is survived by her husband Darrell Modrall; her son Tad Bryant; daughter-in-law Beverly Brown; sister-in-law Wanda Ward; and many other extended friends and family.
