Esther Vera Cortez, 81, of Abilene passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at 10AM at True Light Global Ministries located at 1164 Minter Lane Abilene, Texas.

Esther was born September 3, 1943, in Karnes City, TX to Maria Martinez and Florencio Vera. In her spare time, she loved to go play bingo, card games and watch her cooking shows. She also loved spending time with her kids and grandkids, going to their events to listen to music and dance.

Esther was preceded in death by her loving husband Francisco Cortez Jr., parents Florencio Vera and Maria Martinez, three sisters Eloisa Rodriguez, Rachel Trevino and Isabel Vera.

Left to cherish her memories are her 4 children Frank Cortez III and wife Christy, Florencio Cortez and wife Rebecca, Isabella Martinez and husband Rufus Jr., and Lupe Cortez. God-Daughter Angelica Carrillo. A host of 22 grandkids, 16 great grandkids and 5 great-great grandkids, many more family and many lifelong friends.
