Ezell McBride, 89 Of Denton and formerly of Abilene, went home to the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, March 21, 2020 at North's Funeral Home with Dr. Lee Tyson officiating. Friends may call from 6pm to 8pm, Friday at the funeral home.
Ezell was born on November 21, 1930 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Ernest and Mary Malone McBride and lived in Abilene for over 50 years. He and his first wife Essie Drones McBride had 3 children. Ezell married Hazel Hawkins on September 8, 1952 and celebrated 36 years of marriage before her passing, together they raised 5 children. He worked for many years in construction in the Abilene area before going to work at Abilene Regional Hospital where he in 2015 after 20 years. Ezell was a CB Radio enthusiast who's handle was "445". He loved fast cars especially Mopars.
Ezell is survived by his Daughters, Beth McBride of Cross Roads, Texas and Ernestine Morgan of Fresno, California; Sons, Johnny Lee McBride of Denton, Texas, Donell McBride of Abilene and Lonell McBride of Abilene; Dear friend, Deloris Gardner of Denton, Texas; 32 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren, 46 great, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hazel; children, Rosemary McBride, Mary McBride and Harold "Bert" McBride and his brothers Ozell McBride and Ronald Taylor.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Trio Hospice of Denton, Dedra and Darrell Washington, Johnny and Shelly McBride and Renesha McBride for caring for Ezell in his final days.
