Faye McAnally of Abilene passed away February 24 2013. Services will Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Westgate Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Masonic Cemetery under the direction of North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street.
Faye was born on January 29 1912 to Millard and Lucy Morgan in Abilene Texas and remained a lifelong Abilene resident. After graduation from Abilene High School Faye started working at the Abilene State School as a PBX operator installing the first telephone system in 1930. After seven years she became interested in occupational therapy and transferred to that department as an occupational therapy assistant. Faye retired from Abilene State School in 1964 after 34 years of service. Faye then went to work at West Texas Rehabilitation retiring in 1976 after 10 years of service.
Faye was preceded in death by her mother and father Milliard and Lucy Morgan; a sister Flora Reed; a niece Barbara Jean Chappell Smith; and her husband Joe McAnally whom she married in 1934. Faye is survived by a niece Eva Nell Parker of Odessa Texas; grand-nieces Glenda McDowell of Odessa Texas and Shannon Johnson Houston Texas; and grand-nephews Sammy Smith of Austin Texas and Tony Parker of New Orleans Louisiana.
