Flora King, 93, of Abilene passed away Monday, July 03, 2017. A Graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in Elmwood Memorial Park with Bill Louthan officiating, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. ~ 11:00 A.M. Wednesday morning in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St.
Ms. King was born March 23, 1924 in Gaugh, Texas to Harold H. and Sallie (Harville) Wilson. She married Calvin R. King in August of 1946 and moved to Abilene in 1948. She worked for the Abilene Independent School system for many years in the food service department and traveled to Hawaii, Las Vegas and Minnesota during that time.
She was member of Belmont Baptist Church for many years until she was unable to drive. She enjoyed living at Wisteria Place for three years, taking up painting.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lynn Louthan and husband Bill of Whitney, Texas. One brother, Don and his wife Honey of Abilene and many nieces, nephews and friends.
