Frankie Mae Washington
Frankie Mae Washington, age 91 of Abilene, passed away on Saturday October 26, 2019 at her residence. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at Bethel AME Church at 750 Plum Street, Abilene, Texas.
Frankie Mae Washington was born on September 5, 1928 to Cannon and Mollie Henry in Pelham, Texas.
Frankie accepted Jesus Christ into her life at an early age and grew up in Brown Chapel Church. She joined Bethel AME Church in Abilene and was an active member serving as Trustee, Class Leader, Usher, Steward and Stewest, Frankie was dedicated to the Lord and her church.
Frankie married Henry Washington, to this union 3 children were born. After moving to Abilene, 3 more children were born. She worked at Hendrick Medical Center for 25 years before retiring and also worked in private homes.
She loved crossword puzzles, gardening, plants and watching sports.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, brothers Ira Henry, Sr. and Rev. Willie Steve Henry, sisters Equilla Houston, Myrtle Henry (Tuna) and Ruby Beatrice Echols.
She leaves to cherish her memories two sons: Norman Washington and Danny Earl Washington; four daughters: Glenda Washington, Deborah Washington Cooper, Sandra Washington and Karen Washington Rogers; Grandchildren: Diedra Reed, Tyerone Washington (Kim), Jamar Washington (Teaundra), Javonda Johnson, Kinyada Johnson (Mayela), Teri Johnson, Sterling Rogers and Shelby Rogers;
Great-grandchildren: Tyerone Washington (Evelyn), Te'Ana Washington, Anthony Oages (Shyanne), Camryn Casselberry, Jamier Washington, Taven Washington, and Tahari Cross, Jr.; Great-great grandchildren: Daliyah Vances, Hayden Oages, Tyerone (TJ) Washington, Araiyah Oages. Also as a special
part of our family, Katrina and Daven Mallard, Nieces, nephews and a special nephew Rev. James Haskell and other family and friends.
