Obituary

Freda Hicks Litton 92 of Abilene went home to be with Jesus Thursday, July 11, 2024. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 18th at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church at 11am, officiated by Pastor Griffin Jones. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 4 to 6 at North's Funeral Home. Freda was born January 7, 1932 in Hamby, TX to Talmage and Willie (Greenway) Hicks. She worked as a Dorm Mother for Hardin Simmons University at Ferguson Hall and in the Hardin Simmons University Library. She also worked as a night cook at Hendrick Medical Center and loved to cook for the Doctors and staff that had to work late. In her spare time she loved to cook, bake/decorate cakes, shop for and give gifts to family and friends. Freda was preceded in death by her Parents and her Brothers: Harold Hicks (US Navy), Gaylon Hicks (US Navy) and James Hicks (US Air Force) who died young in an Air Tanker Crash. Sisters: Eulaine Haile and Edna Robertson. Left to cherish her memories are: Her sons: Eldon Litton of Abilene TX, Bill Litton and longtime companion Ana of Incline Village NV. Grandchildren: Shonna Brown & husband Adam of Hampstead NC and William "Trey" Litton III and wife Nicole of Saginaw TX. Great Grandchild: Kaila Brown of Hampstead NC. Sister: Theresa Collum of Abilene. Brothers: Victor Hicks (US Navy) and wife Johnelle of Hamby, Sol Hicks of Bakersfield CA, and many Nieces and Nephews. The Family would like to give a special thanks to Sue Gibson and the staff of Bethel Suites Nursing Home for their EXCEPTIONAL, loving and Christian care.
