Garry Lynn Lawless fought a brave and difficult battle for 2 ½ months which ended Saturday, January 23, 2016. As his twin brother said, "He is now fishing in the most beautiful lake ever." A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 27th 2:00 p.m. in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street. Garry was born in Abilene, Texas on June 12, 1941 to E.C. and Jeanette Beecham Lawless. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Wilber Wayne Lawless and a sister, Wanda Jean Lawless Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Judy, daughter, Ginger Lynn and husband Armando Tamez of Midland, son, Todd Wayne Lawless of Austin, twin brother, Jerry Glen Lawless of Granbury, brother, Gaylon Bob Lawless of Abilene, brother-in-law, Albert Gene Denny of Abilene, granddaughter, Andrea Lynn Tamez of Tyler, grandson, Cory Glen Tamez of Midland, great-granddaughter, Lilianna Rippee of Midland, nephews, Don, Keith & Craig Johnson, Dustin Lawless, nieces, Julie Dillon, Jennifer Franklin, Traci Lawless and several cousins, great nieces, nephews and his constant companion and "Best Friend" of fifteen years, Tipper Marie. Garry married Judy Kimbrel in Abilene, Texas on June 12, 1963. During their life together they lived in Texas, California and New Mexico. Garry tried many different jobs, from lumber mills to oil fields before he discovered his love for sales. In 1965 Garry began a twelve year career with Zales Jewelers, and during that time he was manager of the Zales River Oaks Village store and the Roswell, New Mexico store. While in Roswell, he earned recognition as Zales Top salesman in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. He was also recognized for attaining the highest volume performance in that region. He also worked jewelry sales at Fanous Brothers Jewelers. Garry eventually left jewelry sales and spent the last several years of his professional career selling advertising. After his retirement, he spent most of his time at his and Judy's get away at Lake Brownwood. It was a place he loved and a place where he made many friends. Gary was a person who never met a stranger and enjoyed everything in life. He loved his family, his children, and friends of his children, and they all loved him. He loved fishing, collecting rocks, and antiques. Every morning started with a trip to a local restaurant where he met with a circle of friends for coffee. This was a tradition for Garry that lasted many years. That circle was ever changing, and their last gathering was Friday morning at Hendrick Hospital in Garry's room. He will be missed by many.
