Obituary

Geraldine "Jerry" " Mama Dos" B. Snively Shedd 85 of Clyde died Sunday in Abilene under Hospice Care.  Graveside service will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Shep Community Cemetery with David Peterson of the Clyde Church of Christ and Gary Montgomery of the Baird Church of Christ officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Mrs. Shedd was born October 8 1926 in Laredo Texas to Carl and Alvarie Bergman. She grew up in Laredo and graduated from Marlin High School in 1942. She attended Abilene Christian College until her junior year. She married R.C. Snively on December 21 1946. They moved to many towns for job advancements until his death in 1962. She met and married Leon Wyatt Shedd on August 15 1965. They had a wonderful forty-one years together before his passing January 5 2006. Geraldine and Leon spent eight years traveling with Sojourners doing the Lord's work. They traveled all over the United States working to help build churches and teach the gospel. They both thought this was the most rewarding thing they had done in their lives. She really missed that when they decided they needed to stop. She is survived by one son Robert Paul Snively and wife Peggy of Clyde one step-daughter Kay Hambright Stevens and husband Wes of Victoria Texas one very special friend that she considered her daughter Trudy Mosley and husband Ron of Abilene Texas two brothers Layton Bergman and wife Gail of Kansas City Missouri Wayne Bergman and wife Ruth of New Jersey one Granddaughter Leah Snively Bailey and husband Jeff of Krum Texas step-grandsons Mark Hambright and wife Joyce of Midland Texas James Hambright and wife Courtney of Floresville Texas. Also survived by three great-grandchildren Dillon South of Denton Texas Bret South of Clyde Justan Bailey of Krum Texas two step-great-granddaughters Paige Hambright of Floresville Texas and Kylie of Midland Texas one great-grandson Lawson Hambright of Midland Texas. She was preceded in death by R.C. Snively Leon Wyatt Shedd and stepson Ronnie Shedd.
