Gus S. Warren Jr. 73 devoted husband and father left for a better place September 16 2008. Memorial services will be held for Gus and his fully lived life at South Pointe Church 3050 Buffalo Gap Road in Abilene Saturday September 20 2008 at 2 p.m. Arrangements were made by North's Funeral Home 242 Orange.
He was born in Ft. Worth Texas and moved to Abilene as an adult. He married Mary Webb on December 12 1988. Gus did many things in his life that many only think about doing. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He also owned a Bultaco. He enjoyed water skiing was a licensed pilot and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He served many years as the volunteer head of security of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center telethon. He built and flew radio control model airplanes and played the rhythm guitar.
Survivors include his wife Mary; two sons and daughter-in-laws Buddy and Marvette Warren Scott and Tina Warren; a daughter and son-in-law Tina Warren and Shelton Flowers; five grandchildren Brett Danielle Buddy Wade Kaylee and Tracye.
The family requests memorials be sent to Hendricks Hospice 1682 Hickory St. Abilene Texas 79601.
