Harold Wendell Richards Jr. 83 of Abilene passed away Thursday November 20, 2025 in Abilene Graveside service will be held Monday December 1, 2025 at 9am at the Texas State Veteran Cemetery with Military Honors. Harold was born in Chicago, Illinois on Sept. 29, 1942. His Father Harold Wendell Richards Sr. and Mother Laura Richards. He married the Love of his life Helen Elizabeth Oxner Richards on April 8, 1968 in Florida. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army, Medal Meritorious service , Army Commendation medal (2nd award), Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense service Medal (2nd award), Noncommissioned Officer's professional Development (3rd Award), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon(3rd Award). Harold Richards was preceded in death by Wife Helen Elizabeth Oxner Richards on Aug 1, 2014, Brothers Carl Kroen, Robert Kroen, Sisters Shirley Kugel, Mary Ann Kroen. Harold Richards is survived by Brother John Kroen and Peggy Kroen (wife) Chicago, Illinois,. Children: Darryl Richards, Nicole Richards Carroll and Son In Law Mathew Carroll, Harold Richards, and daughter Monica Richards. He is also survived by his loving Grandchildren Michael Davis, Dante Murphy, and many nieces and nephews.
