Harryette was born April 9,1942 in Waynesboro, VA. To Robert Clayton and Alice Claire Eppard Comer, where she was raised until she joined the United States Air Force. She met her husband William (Bill) Patrick while in basic training at Lackland AFB San Antonio, TX. They later married June 30, 1958, in Jefferson, TX.
Harryette left the military to become a wife, homemaker, and mother. She was fortunate and traveled the world with Bill during his military career. She attended the University of Maryland, Bitburg, Germany where she earned a bachelor's degree in Fine arts and minor in Applied Psychology. She moved to Abilene, Tx in 1976 where she resided until her death. She was very proud to call Abilene her home. She was a member of numerous civic, religious and professional organizations. Pioneer Drive Baptist was her church home. The ladies of the Lydia Class were extremely fond to her. When she became ill, she dearly missed being able to attend.
During her life she had numerous jobs, but she settled into the insurance field where she was an accountant and later office manager at Perry Hunter Hall Insurance Company.
Harryette was a force to be reckoned with either you loved her, or you didn't. She raised her children to be self-sufficient and independent. She considered this to be her most important job.
