Helen was born August 2, 1922, in Albany, Shackelford County, Texas.
She was a member of Southside Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught preschool Sunday school for 40 years, and played the piano for the preschool choir. From January 1965 to June 1973 Helen worked as secretary to the Abilene Baptist Association. In 1989 she retired from Hendrick Home for Children as office manager. She was very independent and had a great sense of humor. The family was very happy when the large mesquite tree in the back yard was cut down. Helen would climb the tree to repair the top of the roof. Her favorite "vegetable" was dark chocolate, to be enjoyed with or without a meal.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Edith Erna Riffe, K.B. Riffe, Ruby Nell Riffe, Ella Mae Doyle, and J.B. Riffe.
She is survived by daughters Edith Vogt of Abilene, Cheryl Howerton of Dallas, and Ruth (Michelle) Faucett of Panama, CA. 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Timothy (Randy) Howerton and Russell Howerton, and nephews, Rodney Riffe, Reggie Stover, Regin Stover, and Brandon Stover.
