Henry A. Thibodeaux, age 72, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, December 4th, 2023 in Abilene, Texas. Henry was born in Kissimmi, Florida on August 14th, 1951 to Anthony Thibodeaux and Lillian Romero Thibodeaux. A visitation will be held from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday, December14th, 2023, at North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange St., Abilene, Texas. Graveside services will be at 1pm, Friday at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery Abilene with George Adams officiating. Henry enjoyed tending to his 4 horses that brought him joy and during his spare time enjoyed the trails rides with his friends or just around the neighborhood. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle every time he had a chance. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam war. Henry enjoyed spending time with his niece Amelia every time she came down to visit him. He enjoyed his drives to San Antonio to see his grandchildren. Henry worked for Hendrick Medical Center for 15 years in the maintenance department. He always looked forward to the Christmas Season, because he would sing in their Christmas Choir. Henry was preceded in death by an infant son James Thibodeaux, his parents Anthony and Lillian Thibodeaux, sister Gail Thibodeaux Hooman and Cheryl Dean Thibodeaux. Left to cherish his memories is his life partner Gladys Strickland of Abilene, Texas, son Matthew S. Thibodeaux and wife, Nicki of San Antonio, Texas and daughter Melissa Holland, 5 granddaughters; Alexis Thibodeaux and Nadia Thibodeaux and Summer Turner, Emily Turner and Zoe Turner,1 Grandson Jimmy Swanson Holland, 3 nieces and 1 nephew.
