H.L. Walton 88 of Abilene died at 4:16 a.m. Friday December 05 2008 in the Brownwood Hospital. Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday December 8 2008 at Elmwood Baptist Church with Pastor Joel Tobey officiating. Burial will be in the Sweetwater Cemetery with Military Honors under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2 - 4 p.m. on Sunday December 7 at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange. Mr. Walton was born April 16 1920 in Ranger Texas. He served in the Army from July 1942 to November 1944. He married Daphine Henderson in May of 1945 then years later he married Maybell James. He lived in Sweetwater and Abilene for most of his life. He was a member of Elmwood Baptist Church for a long time. He was preceded in death by one son his parents four sisters six brothers and both wives. He is survived by two sons Jerry Walton and wife Mary Ann of Abilene Henry Walton and wife Ginger of Waco; one brother Wayne Walton of Azle Texas; one sister Louise Wilson of Atlanta Georgia; four grandsons Kevin Walton of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area Bruce Walton of Ft. Bragg NC Daniel Walton of Midland Texas Christopher Walton of Abilene; two granddaughters Ginger Hinshaw of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area Mary Denise Bonacci of Abilene; ten great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons. Memorials may be made in honor of H.L. Walton to Elmwood Baptist Church.
