Our beloved Hoyt ""Ray"" Hazal 64 of Abilene left this life to be with his Lord on September 4 2010. Graveside Services will be at Pike Cemetery between Leonard and Celeste Texas on Friday September 10 2010 at 1:00 p.m. under the direction of North's Funeral Home.
He was born in Greenville Texas on November 22 1945. He and his family moved to Abilene in 1949 and then to Las Vegas Nevada in 1957. He graduated from Basic High School in Henderson Nevada in 1964. He moved back to Abilene in 1965 he later attended Grayson College in Denton Texas where he graduated. Those were very happy years for Ray as he was their on-campus disc jockey using the name of ""B. Salter"". Music radio and football were Ray's passion throughout his life. Although he suffered from M.S. and Parkinson's Disease most of his life he was mostly happy optimistic and enjoyed life. He never married but had much love in his life!
He was preceded in death by his father Hoyt B. Hazal.
Survivors include his mother Nina Belle Rains Hazal 87 of Abilene. One brother Ricky Lynn Hazal and wife Robin of Las Vegas Nevada his Aunt Mary Elizabeth Eaker Uncle Bobby Rains and wife Jaunita Aunt Taublee Chapman Rains Uncle Larry Rains and wife Susan all of Abilene. Several nieces and nephews and many many cousins family and friends.
