Hubert "Herb" Ison, 79, gained his angel wings on January 16, 2014, in Abilene, Texas. A memorial service will be Tuesday, January 21, at 2:00 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange Street. Herb was born in Jackson, Kentucky in 1934. He served in Korea and Vietnam. He worked for 15 years at J.C. Penney's. He is survived by two sons, Roddy Ison and Herbert Ison, and by one daughter, Rhonda Salazar, all of Abilene; two brothers, Dean Ison and Donald Ison, both of Kentucky; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Boney Ison, Jr., and Nancy Jones; five sisters; seven brothers; two daughters, L'louise and Kathy; and a son, Ricky.
