Ida Mae Cranfill Ida Mae Cranfill 88 of Justin TX peacefully passed from this Earth to Heaven on Wednesday February 24 2010 surrounded by loved ones. Ida Mae was born in Tye TX on May 22 1921 to Birdie (Seymour) and Kit Carson Woods. Ida Mae was a long time resident of Abilene. She married R.C. "Doc" Cranfill September 7 1959 and they began building a life together in Abilene. Ida could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She encouraged those around her that they could do the same! She enjoyed sewing visiting family and friends bowling playing cards and dominos with her grandkids making memories at Lake Coleman traveling with the Abilene Sundowners Good Sam club and talking about the good old days. Ida moved to Justin in September of 2008 where she enjoyed the scenery and spending time with her son and family. Ida Mae was a loving sister wife mother aunt grandmother great-grandmother great-great grandmother and friend. Many lives have been touched and changed by knowing her! Ida Mae was preceded in death by many loved ones: parents Birdie and Kit Woods; husband "Doc" Cranfill four sons: James Whitley Raymond Whitley R.A. Cranfill and Arlie Whitley; sister Ruby Evelyn Minter; and brother Elmer Woods. Ida Mae is survived by: daughter Kay Flethcher of Plainfield IL; three sisters: Kitty Carolyn Stuart of Gonzalez TX June Phelps of Belton TX and Ella Hammett of Henderson TX; and numerous grandchildren great-grandchildren great-great grandchildren nieces and nephews who love her deeply. She will be dearly missed by many! Visitation will be Monday March 1 from 6-7:30 at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street. Services will be at 1:00 Tuesday March 2 at Southern Hills Church of Christ with Danny Minton officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery directed by North's Funeral Home.
