Ida Jean Schulz, AKA Momma Jean or Grandma Jean, 80 years old, of Abilene, TX, passed away on September 23, 2022 in hospice care after an injury.
A private memorial will be held at a later date with family and friends.
Ida Jean Schulz was born in Stockton, California to W. Dawrmen Newton and Ida Newton on February 14, 1942. She was a LVN at the Abilene State School for 26 years. She was patient, kind, smart, loving, funny, and had a positive outlook on life. She was an avid reader. Jean's devotion to her family was unquestioned. She was the unrivaled keeper of the family lore.
Ida Jean Schulz was preceded in death by her husband; Richard "Dutch" Schulz, daughter; Benna Schulz and her parents W. Dawrmen Newton and Ida Newton.
Ida Jean Schulz is survived by her son; Richard Schulz and wife Susan. Sister; Betty Crawford of Abilene, Tx. Brother; Dr. Jerry Newton and wife Kathrine of Palestine. Grandchildren, Trevor Green and Rebecca Schulz and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends from the Navy family. Jean was also survived by her precious and lovable four-legged companion, Ivy.
