Ima Gene Conger Bryan Brooker 94, of Abilene went to be with her Savior and Lord Jesus Christ, Tuesday morning, March 17, 2015. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 in North's Memorial Chapel with Pastor Jared Owens and Dr. Herb Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Midway Cemetery, Hodges, Texas, under the direction of North's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening in North's Memorial Chapel, 242 Orange St. Ms. Brooker was born June 23, 1920 in Lueders, Texas to David and Julia (Bounds) Conger. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and great-great-grandmother and will be deeply missed. "Her children arise up, and called her blessed". She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, J.C. Brooker. Siblings, Eron McCorkle, J.D. Conger, Ethel Anderson, Anna Lee Roughton and Daisy Holcomb. Three sons; Michael Ray Bryan, Jerry Don Bryan and Clark Gary Bryan. She is survived by her son, Joe Brooker and wife Mary Lou. Three daughters, Sherri Owens and husband Curtis, Charlene Soto and husband Leo, Clarie Knapp and husband Joe. Her rich legacy includes seventeen grandchildren and thirty-six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends.
