Isabel Vera, 83, of Abilene passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at St. Vincent Pallotti Catholic Church 10:00 AM Saturday, November 9th, 2024. Visitation will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at North's Funeral Home with the Rosary to start at 6:00 PM.

Isabel was born December 9, 1940 in Karnes, TX to Maria Martinez and Florencio Vera. In her spare time she loved to be active in any/all sporting events. In her prime she played racquetball, volleyball, softball and bowled. As she got older, she always made it her duty to support her loved ones by being in the stands. Whether it was football, baseball, softball or basketball, she never held back being the loudest and most obnoxious fan in the crowd. Sadly, she was not able to conceive children however, that did not stop her from fostering or stepping in to be a godmother to many. Isabel was a very active member at St. Vincent Catholic Church. In fact recently she received a certificate of appreciation for her dedication to the Servants of Martha. The framed certificate sat on her kitchen table to display for everyone to see.

Isabel was preceded in death by her parents Florencio Vera and Maria Martinez, two sisters; Eloisa Rodriguez and Rachel Trevino.

Left to cherish her memories are: sister, Esther Cortez, nephew, Florencio Cortez, a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and many lifelong friends.
