Ivan James Shelton 86 of Abilene died Friday February 1 2008. Services will be held Monday February 4 2008 at 3:00 PM at Elmwood West United Methodist Church 1302 Pioneer Dr. with Robert Elfrey officiating under the direction of North's Funeral Home. There will be Masonic graveside rites along with Military Honors at Lafayette Memorial Park in Lafayette LA on Wednesday February 6 2008 at 2:00 PM under the direction of Delhomme Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 PM at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange St. Ivan was born April 12 1921 in Yakima WA to Ralph & Ella Beckley Shelton. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII. He was a long time member of Elmwood West UMC. He was a member of the Masons Eastern Star American Legion & DAV. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion Shelton. He is survived by his sister Betty Kennedy of Sequim Washington; three children Kay Forehand of Abilene Jim Shelton of Lafayette LA. and Cheryl Moreland of Homer LA; eight grandchildren Brent and Tim Moreland Lacey and Erin Shelton Mathew Corey and Alex Forehand and Renee Huestis; one great granddaughter Lexi Huestis.
