Jack Perkin 1929 ~ 2006 In loving memory of our husband father grandfather and brother Jack Perkin of Abilene who departed this life on December 28 2006 at his residence. A memorial service will be held Friday February 9 2007 at 1:30 p.m. Lane A in the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery. Jack was born August 13 1929 in Lincoln Nebraska. He was raised by his mother Pearl Emma Ella Moormeier and step-father Richard Joseph Perkin. The family moved to Texas when Jack was a young boy. After graduating from San Angelo High School Jack joined the U.S. Army where he was trained as a paratrooper. He was deployed to fight in World War II and later in the Korean Conflict. He received several awards and an honorable discharge from injuries he obtained. When he returned he trained as an accountant and later opened J&M Cabinets in Abilene Texas for over twenty years before retiring in 2004. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife Lanelle Perkin from Abilene three sons; Heath Perkin of Abilene and Bryan Harrell Perkin of Tulsa Oklahoma and one son from a former marriage; Two sisters; Margie Moore and husband Sam from San Angelo Texas Mary and her husband Bill from Mesquite Texas. One brother; Rick Perkin and wife Patty of Colorado City Texas. One grandson; Brent Harrell from Russillville Arkansas; two grandsons from a former marriage; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express our gratitude to Dr. Shudde Dr. Vadel and their staff for their professional and compassionate care during the last years of his life. Also thanks goes to Mario and Anna Monsivaiz and staff of M&M. Construction for allowing Jack to remain focused by activities which he was accustomed prior to his onset of Alzheimer's .
