Jack W. Watson 87 formerly of Abilene passed away July 3 2012 in Bellville Texas . The family will be receiving guests Thursday July 5 2012 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at North's Memorial Chapel 242 Orange Street . A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday July 6 2012 at Sacred Heart Church led by Father Robert Bush. Burial to follow at Elmwood Memorial Park under the direction of North's Funeral Home. Jack was born July 25 1924 in San Saba Texas to Willis and Altha Watson. He graduated from San Saba High School May 1942 then served in the Navy March 2 1943 to February 9 1946 as a Fire Control 3 rd Class. Jack then attended Texas A&M starting February 11 1946. He married Jeanne Konczak on December 20 1951 and they were married for 57 years and 6 months sharing a beautiful life together Jeanne died August 1 2009. Jack enjoyed life and worked as an insurance agent for 10 years and retired from the United State Postal Service in 1986 after 25 years. He won All District Football in high school at San Saba and played baseball at Texas A&M. He coached little League Pony League and All Stars baseball in Abilene . Jack loved to play Golf he was a wonderful family man raised in the Methodist Church and later joined the Catholic Church. He lived in Abilene from 1951 until moving to Brenham November 2010. Jack is preceded in death by his parents Willis Ward Watson and Altha Belle Hartley Watson; brothers Elma Watson Preston Watson and Wilbern Watson; sister Zola Ward Trail; and wife Jeanne Konczak Watson. He is survived by sons Michael Watson and wife Susan Willis Watson and wife Pam; daughter Laura Butts and husband Don; sister Willena Madge Maddox; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
