Ja'Lavion Navea Beaver, 26, passed away on May 3, 2026.
Born on November 3, 1999, in Abilene, Ja'Lavion attended Cooper High School. After high school, he became a father, one of the happiest and greatest moments of his life. His son brought him immeasurable joy and purpose.
Ja'Lavion enjoyed playing multiple sports, eating, singing, and dancing. He loved hands-on projects that challenged and elevated his mind. He especially treasured spending time entertaining his nieces and nephews. Ja'Lavion had a giving heart and was always trying to help others and make people smile.
Those left to cherish his memories include his beloved son, Princeton Javon Navea Beaver; his mother, Tydee Beaver; stepfather, Joseph Wilborn; father, Robert Durst; sisters, Cha'Nire Beaver and I'yone Beaver; brothers, LA'Traveeus Beaver and Chris Applin; and 12 nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Cheryl and Clifford Miles, Laura and Paul Martin, Gertrude and Billy Jones, and Rose Thompson; brother-in-law Alex Scroggins; sister-in-law Timonisha Watkins; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, John Elgin and Robert "Crip" Durst Jr.; grandmother, Alma Forest; uncle, Derrick Harden; and many other loved ones whom he is now blessed to be reunited with.
Ja'Lavion was and always will be the heart of his family. Known as a gentle giant with a billion-dollar smile, he could light up any room he entered. Everywhere he went, people were touched by his presence and adored being around him. He loved hard, cared deeply, and brought laughter and warmth to those fortunate enough to know him. He was smart, funny, kind, and above all, human in the most beautiful way.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 18, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at North's Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Valley View Missionary Baptist Church.
