James C. Allison was born April 9, 1935 to J.C. and Lillie Shelburne Allison in Eastland, Texas. A Graveside service will be held Thursday November 7, 2024 at Eastland Cemetery Eastland TX at 4:00PM. With Pastor Jamie McCravey officiating. James graduated Eastland High School 1952. He received B.A. Hardin-Simmons University 1959, M.A. Southwestern Seminary, Fort Worth 1964 and was certified in Spanish language from the Spanish Language School of the College of the Americas in San Antonio 1970. James married Mary Ann Shults of Post, Texas July 8, 1955. They were the proud parents of Kathy Allison Hubbard and Jerry Allison. James pastored several Baptist Churches in Texas: Mitchel in Eastland Co., Brice in Motely Co., Hobbs in Fisher Co., Loving in Young Co., Vigo Park in Swisher Co. and First Baptist Church, Lockney, Texas. James served as Director of Development for Valley Baptist Academy in Harlingen, Texas and later as Director of Development, West Texas for Mary-Hardin-Baylor University. When he moved to Lubbock, Texas he worked for the Human Resourced Department until he was recruited for implementing the Medical Transportation System for the State of Texas. Mr. Allison worked for Human Resources in Austin as Director of Medical Transportation until retirement in1995. He and Mrs. Allison traveled widely in North America and Europe after retirement.
