James David Culberson, also known as 818, passed away Saturday October 27, 2023 in Abilene,TX. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday November 11,2023 at 11:00AM, at Macedonia Baptist Church 608 N. 7th St. James D. Culberson, born in Knox City, Texas on July 27,1955 to James Culberson and Erma Johnson. He loved reading, nature, animals, country music and sports. He had a Mini Doberman by the name of Dobie that he lost February 2022. He was retired and his jobs included groundskeeper, licensed heavy equipment, warehouse worker and furniture repairman. James was preceded in death by his parents, a brother (Domanutha Franklin), a daughter (Tisha Burns) and a nephew (Morrisea Lewis). James is survived by his friend and companion Claudia Burns of 33 years; Three siblings: Mary Manuel, Grady Floyd Lewis and Coronica Jewel Cooper (Hayward); Three Grandchildren: Ladale Sr., Jazi Ross (Randy) and Tasia Cummings (Jeremy) ;Five Great Grandchildren: Ladale Harris Jr., Kianna Cummings, Braedyn Cummings, Ryleigh Ross and Journei Ross; Nephews: Michael Manuel, Kamden Culberson (Vanessa), Jerry Culberson, Anwar Culberson (Maria) and Corey Culberson(Anita) ; Nieces: Michelle Wiggins, Shea Manuel, Tonya Manuel, Audrey Lewis, Tamy Lewis, Sonja Lewis and Lisa; And a host of great nephews and nieces, a great great nephew, cousins and friends.
