James Eldridge Duck 82 loving husband and father passed away Tuesday June 4 2013 in Weatherford Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at North's Memorial Chapel with Dr. Phil Christopher officiating. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at North's Funeral Home 242 Orange Street.  James was born August 29 1930 to Nancy and David Duck in Wyatt Louisiana. He graduated from Quitman High School Quitman Louisiana. In 1948 he joined the United States Army Air Corps and was in the first Berlin Airlift in 1949. MSgt Duck served twenty four years before retiring from the United States Air Force. After retirement he graduated from McMurry University in Abilene Texas. He worked in real estate taught at Commercial College and had his own real estate and bookkeeping service. On November 8 1958 he married the love of his life Bobbie Dean Duncan in Abilene. He was an active member of the Founder Lions Club for many years. He also was a member of First Baptist Church and the Air Force Sergeants Association.  He is preceded in death by his parents wife Bobbie and son-in-law Greg Thompson. He is survived by his brothers: Robert Duck J.W. Duck and Howard Duck; his sister Lillian Stevenson; his children: Bobbidee Thompson Mary Weaver and her husband Dennis; his grandchildren: Natasha Segovia and her husband Bryan Chase Thompson Jerry and James Weaver. He is also survived by great-granddaughter Daria Jane Segovia. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Abilene Baptist Association or the James and Bobbie Dean Duncan Duck Memorial Endowed Scholarship at Hardin-Simmons University.
